GS1 Digital Link enables consistent representation of GS1 identification keys within web addresses to link to online information and services. Meaning, manufacturers, distributors and hospitals, now with GS1 Digital Link, they have the opportunity of using a single barcode to access digital information about the product. GS1 Digital Link enables a single code to perform multiple functions, both online and offline, reducing the need for multiple codes on a pack and has the future potential to realise a single data carrier for all functions.
